Scanning

Negative scanning in Melbourne

Those strips of 35mm negatives in a drawer hold frames you may never have seen printed. We scan colour and black and white negatives at our Kew East lab and turn them into high-resolution digital files you can print, share and keep. The strips themselves never leave the shop.

Negative scanning in Melbourne: 35mm film

We scan colour and black-and-white 35mm negatives on the Fujifilm SP3000. Every scan is checked by hand.

If you have prints as well as negatives, Photo scanning in Melbourne covers those. We also scan slides; see Slide scanning in Melbourne for more.

What you get

High-resolution digital files, on USB or by download. They're ready to print or enlarge, to share with family, and to back up wherever you keep the rest of your photos.

The files come back at a size made for reprinting and enlargement, so a frame from Custom Picture Framing, or a wall piece from Canvas Prints, can be made from a negative nobody ever printed big.

How we look after your negatives

Every job is identified with a unique four digit sticker. Your originals stay in the shop.

We do the labelling, so you can bring your negatives as they are.

What it costs and how long it takes

Prices are fixed and agreed at the counter before work starts, with no hidden fees.

How long the job takes depends on how many strips there are, how busy we are and the condition of the film. We never charge extra for a rush job.
