Scanning

Photo scanning in Melbourne

We scan printed photographs at our Kew East lab, from a single print to boxes of family albums. High-resolution digital files let you share the pictures, reprint them and keep a backup.

Photo scanning in Melbourne

Scanning gives you a digital copy of a printed photo that you can share or reprint. We scan loose prints and full albums, and can help with a single photograph or a larger collection.

Ensuring a print isn't your last copy means making a digital scan and keeping a backup. Ask about optional cleanup of dust, scratches and fading when you bring your photos in.

What you get

Photos are scanned on Epson flatbeds, most at 600dpi. Higher resolution is available on request. Optional cleanup can address dust, scratches and colour casts.

Your prints are returned with high-resolution digital files, delivered on USB or by download and ready to reprint, share or back up.

How we handle your prints at the counter

Photos are looked at and assessed at the counter, with advice about the expected outcome, timing and cost before work starts. Your originals stay in the shop.

Every job is labelled with its own unique four digit sticker. No appointment is needed. Bring the box as it is and we do the labelling.

How long a scanning job takes

Timing depends on how many photos there are, their condition and how busy the shop is. The time frame is discussed at the counter.

Prices are fixed and agreed before work starts, with no hidden fees. There's no extra charge for a rush job. We offer fast turnaround for funerals and memorials; Melbourne Photo Services for Funerals explains the available services.
